Confirmations continue to arrive: Paulo Fonseca's days at Milanello are numbered. An exit soon is inevitable and there are a few alternatives being considered.
According to what is reported by Il Corriere dello Sport in this morning's print edition, one of the names being thought of to replace the Portuguese tactician is the former Hellas Verona, Marseille and Lazio coach: Igor Tudor.
Speaking of Fonseca, his attitude and the quality of performances aren't helping his case at all. If Reijnders isn’t suited to play alongside Youssouf Fofana, as the coach himself stated after the Liverpool game, why pair them together in midfield against Roma? If Fofana is playing (not well) in a different role than he had at Monaco, why not put him in a position to perform at his best in his natural role?
The same could be said for Loftus-Cheek, moved from attacking midfield to central midfield, but never placed in his preferred position as a mezzala (box-to-box midfielder). And these are just details: there are bigger problems beyond this.
The club is considering replacements: in addition to Maurizio Sarri, Edin Terzic, and Thomas Tuchel, Tudor’s profile is highly appreciated, as he has a great relationship with Ibrahimovic. His managerial qualities are appealing, even though his preferred formation (3-4-2-1) doesn’t seem well-suited for this Milan squad.
