Last night, Mike Maignan made several important saves which kept Milan in the game against Bayer Leverkusen. But, eventually, the 28-year-old Frenchman's efforts were not enough.
His heroic efforts? First against Hincapié in the first half, then against Wirtz in the second. In the end, Boniface, with the goal wide open, could do nothing but get past Maignan, who seems to have returned to his scudetto form, but perhaps even more of a leader of a group that relies heavily not only on his gloves but also on his feet, as pointed out by the daily Turin-based newspaper in this morning's print edition, Tuttosport.
