Morten Frendrup is the new name mentioned by La Gazzetta dello Sport for the AC Milan midfield department in view of January's transfer market window, but the Danish player is not the only profile on the Rossoneri scouts' list.
Milan eyes Johnny Cardoso as well
According to the same newspaper, the Rossoneri club directors are also continuing to monitor Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis, a player who was already explored during the summer when negotiations with Monaco for Youssouf Fofana became complicated.
The American player is the same age as Frendrup, and he costs roughly the same as the Genoa player, and hasn't been playing much in Seville (just 457 minutes out of the 720 available in all competitions).
Despite being born in the United States to Brazilian parents, Cardoso also holds an Italian passport, a detail not to be overlooked given that Milan no longer has available spots for non-EU players.
