At the AC Milan Flagship Store on Via Dante in Milan, the inauguration of the open-air photo exhibition "125 Years of Milan" is currently underway.
This initiative, dedicated to the city of Milan and its residents, aims to share the Club's history through 30 photographs from the commemorative book produced in collaboration with Assouline. Attending the event are Club President Paolo Scaroni, CEO Giorgio Furlani, Head Coach Paulo Fonseca, and First Team player Matteo Gabbia. Here are the statements gathered by Milannews.it's correspondent.
The Rossoneri coach said the following:
"Milan is a universal club. When I arrived here, it was easy to grasp the greatness of Milan. It may be hard for fans here in Italy to fully understand this, but as a Portuguese who has worked in Ukraine and France, I am struck by Milan's immense scale. There are so, so many Milan fans even in Ukraine, Portugal, and many other countries. Sometimes we don’t realise the true extent of Milan's reach."
Fonseca, is there a particular page in Milan’s history that has especially moved you?
"I always followed Milan when I was young. It’s hard not to remember the Milan that won the Champions League, the Milan of Tassotti, Baresi, Maldini, Rijkaard, Gullit, van Basten, Costacurta... I remember those times very well and how Milan shaped football with these players."
