AC Milan are keen on signing a new midfielder because it seems that a player with similar technical traits to Youssouf Fofana is missing.

According to what is reported by those at Tuttomercatoweb.com, The Rossoneri could target Morten Frendrup, Genoa's hardworking Dane midfielder who is 23 years old, who was pursued by several clubs over the summer, including Napoli, Liverpool, Brentford, and Brighton.
The latter two continue to monitor his performances, as his displays, especially last season, had sparked interest from major clubs like Liverpool.
It remains to be seen how Genoa will value the AC Milan target.
In the summer, they wouldn't have let him go for less than 18-20 million euros, with the sales of Retegui and Gudmundsson blocking his departure. Now, with new challenges faces the organisational structure and ownership of the club, it’s possible they might consider selling to aim for a profit in 2025, as Genoa's fiscal year aligns with the calendar year rather than the football season.
Milan, on the other hand, currently lacks an alternative to Fofana, especially with Ismael Bennacer sidelined at least until January, after which his condition upon return will need to be evaluated even further.
The Rossoneri's profile for this role is a player with similar attributes who is already familiar with Serie A, and Milan’s scouts have watched Frendrup closely in recent weeks.
