Where has the real Theo Hernandez gone?
Milan fans are asking this question, as well as Corriere della Sera, which discusses the many mistakes the Frenchman has made during the first part of the 2024-2025 season.
These errors are compounded by behaviours and attitudes that are not typical of him, such as the dramatic incident during the cooling break in Rome, the mutiny in Florence with the penalty stolen from Pulisic and then missed, the insults directed at the referee while wearing the captain's armband, and the red card after the match had ended.

Theo, mistakes and a strange attitude...
The latest mistakes on the field came on Saturday during the 3-3 draw against Cagliari, which cost Milan two very important points.
The ex Atlético Madrid, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, who was the worst player on the field against the Cagliari team, is no longer the same and is showing clear defensive weaknesses that have not been seen in some time.
Furthermore, perhaps the most concerning aspect is his attitude and body language: at times, it even seems like he doesn't want to play, unless Milan is involved in a big match, in which case the Frenchman manages to find the right motivation.
Theo's contract renewal issue
After the Cagliari draw, Paulo Fonseca was understandably harsh with him: "You can't concede goals like that... Theo must improve defensively, and we are working to correct that."
One significant factor in this situation is the contract renewal issue, with his deal expiring in 2026. So far, the extension hasn't been agreed upon due to a disagreement over his salary, with the Frenchman requesting an increase from his current 4.5 million euros to 6.5 to 7 million euros, aligning with the salary of Rafael Leao, who is the highest-paid player in the Milan squad.
In the background, Bayern Munich continues to monitor Theo’s situation closely, although those close to him assure that he is happy in Milan and intends to stay with the Rossoneri.
