Jonathan David is set to leave Lille, but only once his contract is completed, avoiding transfers mid-season. This is what the Canadian forward suggests, as he is highly sought after by several top European clubs, including Inter. He was also linked with a move to AC Milan last summer.
In an interview with The Athletic, Jonathan David said these words:
"Going to a club midseason is never easy," he explained. "It’s not like the beginning of a season where you have a pre-season, you get to know your team-mates, you have time to gel. In January, things are very hectic. It’s about right now. It’s tougher."
Jonathan David added:
"(Barcelona) was always the team I grew up supporting. When you grow up supporting a team, it’s your dream to play for them."
The Canadian striker who is 24 years old, with an expiring contract at the end of the season with Lille, has made 19 appearances so far. He found the back of the net on 13 occasions and has registered two assists to his name as well.
