On the occasion of the preview presentation of the Celebratory Kit for Milan's 125th anniversary, Rossoneri legend Serginho was interviewed by Sky Sport. Here are his statements:
What does it feel like to be back here?
“It’s nice to return to the history of this club, which has just launched a new shirt, but one that harks back to the old days. Football has changed a lot in the way it’s played, in the shoes, in the clothing... Going back in time with this long-sleeve shirt, which we wore a lot and with which we won a lot, we hope it brings good luck.”
Is this Milan on the right track? Serginho commented:
“I think Milan has intelligent people in the club and staff who can find balance on the field and in the way they play. A new coach has just arrived, and he is still studying how to play. Then, there have been many new signings. As a big Milan fan, I hope they can find this balance soon, and that the Rossoneri can return to being important both as a team and as a club.”
On Royal Emerson:
“I’ve known Emerson for a long time, I’ve followed him even in the national team when he played for Betis. He has a huge responsibility, as he has to play for Milan as a full-back, where we Brazilians have made history. He has a lot of quality and a lot of room to grow.”
On Theo Hernandez, Serginho said:
“Theo is a fantastic full-back. I never compare myself to him, we are players with different qualities and different histories. I’ve created mine, he still has a long way to go to create his. He’s a player who, at his best, can definitely be in the top 3 full-backs in the world. I hope he continues to build his story and be part of the important history of this club.”
