The Names of the AC Milan Youth Teams

According to the official AC Milan website, there are 17 teams in the Milan team’s youth sector. The team with the youngest players is under age 8 while the team with the oldest players is under age 18. AC Milan’s dedication to developing well-rounded players starting at such a young age will help nurture them into astounding sports stars no matter if they stay playing football or move on to another professional sport during their careers.

The male youth teams names are the following:

  • Under 18
  • Allievi Nazionali U17
  • Allievi Nazionali U16
  • Giovanissimi Nazionali U15
  • Giovanissimi Regionali A U14
  • Esordienti U13 Pro 2010
  • Esordienti A U12
  • Esordienti B U11
  • Pulcini U10
  • Pulcini U9
  • Primi Calci U8

The female youth teams include:

  • Allieve Nazionali U17
  • Giovanissime Nazionali U15
  • Giovanissime U14
  • Esordienti U12
  • Esordienti U11
  • Pulcine U10

How Many Teams for Each Gender?

As aforementioned, there are 17 total teams in AC Milan’s youth sector. The popular football team follows the same rules of sex segregation in youth sports just like in adult professional sports. Genders are separated for the teams because of the scientific differences and strengths of males and females so gameplay is fair for all.

With that being said, there are 6 female youth sector teams and 11 teams featuring male players for AC Milan. The male teams span from as old as under 18 to as young as under 8. The female teams go from as old as under 17 to as young as under 10. Effectively, a young male and female can start at the same time on their gender-specific teams. For example, a qualifying seven-year-old male can be onboarded with Primi Calci U8 while a seven-year-old qualifying female can begin her youth football journey in the Pulcine U10 team.

How AC Milan Scouts and Selects Youth Sector Team Players:

AC Milan partners with local schools, academies, and sports clubs to source the best players to fill their youth sector teams. This strategic scouting approach allows AC Milan youth sector coordinators to spot players at the start of their football journey and onboard them with the equivalent team within their age group to nurture their skills through adulthood.

These scouting professionals travel through Italy and other nations worldwide to find the best players for the youth sector teams. The scouts evaluate the child’s technical abilities, mental strength, work ethic, and physical attributes to ensure they are the best fit for maintaining success for the long term in their football journey.

Conclusion:

The success of a child’s football journey starts by joining a youth sector as young as possible to build their skills from the get-go with a professional youth team sector like AC Milan. Comprehensively scouting for the best youth players and separating them into different teams based on age group, gender, and skill levels ensure they are the utmost successful.
