Tomorrow, AC Milan will be hosted by Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta at the Gewiss stadium.
It's an important match and Fonseca will hope that his team delivers a top-level performance to be able to aim for the Scudetto, but so far, the results haven't fully supported that claim.
Paolo Condò, a well-known journalist, commented live on Sky Sport about the significance of tomorrow's match in Bergamo:
"In my opinion, this match against Atalanta is almost decisive for Milan's Italian season. They lost quite a few points in the early stages of the league. Now, they need a big performance—such as winning in Bergamo—to get back on track and regain awareness, confidence, and enthusiasm. But above all, to earn points and halt some of the teams that are pulling ahead. I deliberately said Italian season because their European campaign, which features an important but certainly less challenging match at home against Red Star next week, has already been put back on track."
Milan's triumph in Madrid changed the narrative...
"The Rossoneri can now set their sights, and is demanding of itself, direct qualification into the top eight—that is within reach. The triumph in Madrid changed the narrative, and winning in Bergamo would be a comparable achievement. I have no doubt that Fonseca is thinking about it."
