Today's edition of Repubblica published the following headline
"Milan, Fonseca increasingly isolated: even the players contradict him."
The harsh outburst of Paulo Fonseca after Atalanta-Milan continues to spark discussion, as he accused referee La Penna of bias and contested the goal by former player De Ketelaere for a push on Theo Hernandez.
The club has requested an official opinion on the incident from the Referee Association, which confirmed that the decision to validate the Belgian's goal was correct. Prior to this, admitting Atalanta's merits and rejecting referee excuses, Morata and Reijnders contradicted their coach.
Here are Alvaro Morata's words to DAZN:
"We lost a very important match, also the way we lost it. They have players of great quality, and we defended very well, but in two situations... On the first one, the foul was very light, but then the goal came. We can't focus on the referees or those things because we didn't deserve to win today."
