Sandro Tonali, as reported by Carlo Laudisa in the online edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, no longer feels comfortable at Newcastle, despite being under contract until 2028. The midfielder, who returned from a one-year suspension at the end of August, has found much more satisfaction playing for Spalletti's Italy, with starting roles and strong performances, compared to his experience with the English club, which signed him two summers ago from Milan for 58.9 million euros plus bonuses and a percentage on any future resale.

According to the newspaper, the midfielder from Lodi dreams of returning to AC Milan, having never hidden his lifelong passion for the club. In these past months, Howe, the head coach of the Magpies, has kept him somewhat on the sidelines: of his 13 Premier League appearances, 7 have been as a substitute, totaling 650 minutes of playing time.
This is not enough for his ambitions, nor does it reflect the current state of the English team, which sits 12th in the Premier League standings.
Will Sandro Tonali leave Newcastle soon?
Considering how much Newcastle invested to bring him to England, any potential transfer would likely have to be on loan, but it remains to be seen whether the club's ownership (PIF) would accommodate the player’s wishes.
Added to this uncertainty is the issue of his salary: Tonali earns around 9 million euros net annually, a figure that is out of reach for Italian clubs. His restlessness has naturally caught the attention of AC Milan, Inter, and Juventus, but at the moment, the financial hurdle is too steep for all of them, as relayed via Milannews.it.
