Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà has spoken through the SportItalia studios about AC Milan's victory against Red Star Belgrade and Paulo Fonseca's statements after the match in particular.
"To me, these are the statements of someone who is no longer there. It's war. It was already clear that the players were not on the same wavelength as Fonseca after the episode in Rome against Lazio, which I believe was a very serious incident because it confirmed that there was no common intent. This now seems like an intervention from a journalist or an opinionist."

He added:
"He should have said these things to the club, he needs to call Furlani and Ibrahimovic and tell them these things.
Pedullà continued to comment about Paulo Fonseca's behaviour:
"Milan has always defended him, but there was a time, not too long ago, when they considered Sarri, though this didn’t go forward, even though there had been contacts, which Milan will clearly deny. The Rossoneri have always denied such rumours. If Fonseca is making these statements, there are two possibilities: either he wants to resign, or he’s doing everything he can to get himself sacked. I don’t have any other interpretations; these are statements of enormous weight."
