In the post-match analysis of Hellas Verona - Milan, Luca Serafini spoke about the performance of Paulo Fonseca's team:
"We didn’t really lose much, because Milan started off lackluster, and then lost Leão after half an hour. Not that he was particularly sharp, but at least he was active. After that, the team became colorless. There was this one spark — the best moment of the game, the most beautiful action of the match on both sides — Fofana's pass and Reijnders' very precise volley. Then, not much else against a modest opponent, let's be honest."

Serafini also said to Milan TV:
"Verona’s shortcomings are numerous and were evident. You take home the three points, the solid performance of the center-backs, confirmation from Jimenez, and Fofana-Reijnders, who, beyond the assist and the goal, were undoubtedly the two best players on the pitch. Everything else, I found quite dull and rather depressing. There was little courage in taking responsibility. Maignan was called into action a couple of half-hearted times, so I think you take home your eighth clean sheet of the first half of the season, which is not insignificant for a team that was struggling defensively. But, overall, the team needs to rediscover its rhythm, because in the last two games, we haven’t seen a great Milan — absences aside, of course."
"Abraham was completely ineffective, Chukwueze didn’t do well, Emerson Royal was subpar, and there was little from Theo when he came on, at least in attack. Terracciano did his job."
