The AC Milan infirmary is finally ready to clear up a bit: five players are set to return on Sunday, December 29, against Roma at San Siro, while two others have a chance of joining Milan's squad for the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Updates on Rafael Leao's condition are also expected in the coming hours. The player suffered a flexor injury yesterday against Verona. Paulo Fonseca, in his post-match comments, reassured about Leao's condition, but only the tests he will undergo will reveal more about the extent of his muscle issue.

Who will Milan recover in view of match against AS Roma?
The Rossoneri coach has also expressed optimism about having Christian Pulisic available against Roma. In the coming days, Milan's number 11 will undergo a follow-up check on his right calf, and barring surprises, he should be available against Ranieri's Giallorossi. Alongside the American, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Luka Jovic and Ismael Bennacer will also return to Fonseca’s squad, with the latter having been out since September.
Additionally, Lorenzo Torriani and Alvaro Morata, who missed the Verona trip due to fever and tonsillitis respectively, are also expected to return against Roma.
The Supercoppa hope...
If these five players return for the Roma clash, Fonseca hopes to also have Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek back for the Italian Super Cup. On January 3, 2025, Milan will play the semifinal against Juventus, with a potential final against either Inter or Atalanta scheduled for January 6. Both midfielders will undergo follow-up exams next week to assess their recovery progress from muscle issues.
They are certain to miss the Roma game but remain hopeful of being fit for the trip to Saudi Arabia.
