Gerry Cardinale's remarks, included in a Harvard study dedicated to Milan, are causing a stir. Above all, what stands out is the harsh reference made by the owner of the Rossoneri club, through RedBird, to the end of the Zhang era at Inter. Among the commentators, during the latest episode of Pressing aired on Mediaset, was journalist Franco Ordine, who stated:
"This is an opportunity to infuriate Milan fans even more because the fundamental issue remains the same. As long as the finances were in order and the results came, everyone heaped praise on Elliott, which had restored a balance sheet that Fassone and Mirabelli had reduced to its bare bones, and everything seemed wonderful. The great fairy tale."

Ordine talked in more details about Milan:
"Today’s problem is this: first of all, the major 'sin' was that you let Maldini and Massara go and did not replace them! It's not just about letting them go; it’s about not replacing them. Then there’s the technical issue of the results and, consequently, the choice of collaborators, starting from the technical direction and ending with the coach, which is another crucial decision. If you get that wrong, you’re throwing money out the window."
On Gerry Cardinale's words on Inter Milan, Ordine said:
"One last thing about the Inter situation: Inter has nothing to do with this matter because Inter is merely the object. What does Inter have to do with it? The subject, meaning the one who led Inter to the Scudetto—Zhang—is in that condition where he lost Inter because Oaktree didn’t receive the money and foreclosed the pledge. Inter has absolutely nothing to do with it."
