Paolo Scaroni, Milan's president, spoke exclusively to Arianna Ravelli, a journalist from Il Corriere della Sera, about Gerry Cardinale's remarks:
"Cardinale, as a sportsman and not just a businessman, was referring to Inter's previous ownership and certainly not to the club itself. On the field, we compete and aim to beat each other, as in the last derby. Sometimes we even joke with each other good-naturedly, but it's clear there’s mutual respect and loyal collaboration with Inter off the field."
He added:
"After all, we've always shared the stadium and are working together to build a new one. Milan is a unique city where fans, fortunately, can attend the derby mingling together in a peaceful atmosphere."
