The long and delicate crisis that AC Milan is going through will have (and is having) significant consequences not only on a sporting level but also on an economic one.

Just think that, due to the disappointing results of this season, the Rossoneri club has missed the opportunity for the income from qualifying for the Champions League round of 16, to which will likely be added those from the next League Phase.

In short, many "negative signs" for a complicated year that could, however, be saved by the Coppa Italia. Yet, even the revenues from the national competition may not alleviate the weight of the "devaluation" that seems to be affecting Milan right now.

The Rossoneri squad is in fact losing a lot of value, especially in its most important players. This morning, Il Corriere della Sera wrote that the valuations of Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan, and Rafael Leao have undergone a devaluation of about 100 million euros. This is the direct consequence of the continuous defeats that Milan seems to be accumulating.

The more you lose, the more your players lose value. This is how Theo Hernandez goes from a valuation of 70 million euros to 20-25, also due to the expiration of his contract in 2026, which further lowers his value. This is how Maignan goes from a valuation of 70 million euros to 35-40, no more, also due to a season that has seen him too often in the spotlight, but in a negative way.

What about Milan's Rafael Leao?

Unlike the two French players, the Portuguese player's season is decidedly less disappointing, but Milan's number 10 is never worth the 175 million euros of the release clause in his contract. More realistically, we can talk about a valuation around 60 million, much less than the nearly 100 million offered by Al-Nassr in last winter’s transfer market, as relayed via Milannews.it.
