At this point, we could say that Jorge Mendes’ Joao Felix experiment has miserably failed. If the talented Portuguese forward is wearing the Rossoneri shirt today, it’s because the powerful agent orchestrated everything behind the scenes, taking advantage of Sergio Conceiçao’s presence on Milan’s bench—another move that certainly didn’t go as expected.

And to think that, given how things had started, there was already talk of a summer meeting between Milan and Chelsea to discuss renewing Joao Felix’s loan, possibly including a clause for a permanent transfer. However, aside from his debut against Roma, the Portuguese forward has failed to impress, even finding himself relegated to the bench by Conceiçao in recent outings.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the future of Milan’s number 79 now seems sealed. With his compatriot’s departure from the bench all but certain, it’s hard to imagine Felix staying—especially considering that, even under normal circumstances, his confirmation would have been up for debate given his underwhelming performances.
But who knows? Things could still change in the coming weeks. Unlikely, of course, but that Coppa Italia trophy up for grabs might just be a decent safety net.
