Samuele Longo gave an interview to Tuttosport in which he also spoke about his experience with Milan Futuro, which ended mid-season with his departure and transfer to Antequera, a third-division Spanish club.
“It’s clear to everyone that things didn’t go the way I had hoped at Milan. A situation had developed in which it was made clear to me—also because of the overage player issue—that if I found something else, it would be for the best. So when the opportunity to return to Spain came up, I accepted it with enthusiasm. It was also a life choice—my family and I feel better here. And from a sporting point of view, I went from trying to avoid relegation to fighting for promotion to the Segunda División.”
Longo added:
"Things weren’t managed in the best way. There are promising boys with great potential. But it was difficult to have continuity in our work—many players would drop down to the Primavera team, others would go up to the first team. Sometimes we found ourselves doing the final training session with only seven players. Let’s just say the working group during the week was never really clear. There was too much coming and going, and it was hard to build a group and really get to know each other. All of this inevitably ends up being reflected on the pitch."
