Milan’s future begins with Tare? And possibly Allegri

The AC Milan club is confident of resolving, in the coming days, the issue related to the new sporting director who will join the management team starting from the beginning of next season. The meeting scheduled between CEO Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare will also say a lot about the future decisions that the Rossoneri club will have to face. Starting with the one regarding the coach who will take the place of Sergio Conceição, who will not be confirmed regardless of the outcome of the league — which still sees him in the running for securing a spot in Europe — and the possibility of getting their hands on the Coppa Italia.

If in the race for the position of sporting director at AC Milan it will indeed be the former Lazio executive who prevails, a name to be strongly considered for the bench is that of Massimiliano Allegri.

Just like Tare, the former Juventus coach has spent this season on the sidelines, waiting for the right call and opportunity to start again. Last January, a couple of Saudi clubs, including Al-Ahly, where, among others, Franck Kessie plays, made contact with his entourage, putting on the table very rich financial offers in the hope of convincing him to move to the Saudi Pro League. A courtship that, to this day, has not sparked the much-anticipated spark, also because Allegri is very eager to challenge himself again in Serie A. And the name of Milan is intriguing, being a place he knows very well, having coached there from 2011 to January 2014, having won there (a Scudetto and a Supercoppa Italiana), and holding the belief that the current squad does not need major overhauls.

Igli Tare has never hidden in the past his deep admiration for Massimiliano Allegri’s work, considering him the best Italian coach alongside Antonio Conte. With the latter’s profile having become somewhat less approachable following Milan’s renunciation of his main supporter, Fabio Paratici, Allegri could soon find himself in a favorable position compared to other candidates. The general indication is that the Rossoneri management wants to focus on a coach who is an expression of our football movement and has a deep knowledge of Serie A. Exotic experiments, such as Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceição — albeit in different ways — will not be repeated. Vincenzo Italiano, Maurizio Sarri, and Gian Piero Gasperini are profiles still to be taken into consideration from this perspective. But to win immediately? If you’re passionate about betting, here are the best sites with registration bonuses in Italy in 2025.

Massimiliano Allegri comes from a very troubled and title-poor experience at Juventus — in the last three years, he only brought home last year’s Coppa Italia — but he always steered the team to the minimum objective of Champions League qualification.

He was able to bring out the best in several young players at his disposal, another trait that would align well with the needs of the current Milan. His last salary was around 7 million euros plus bonuses, a very significant figure and quite far from the parameters used by the Rossoneri in the seasons under the management of Elliott first and then RedBird, as relayed via Calciomercato.com.
