Speaking in the studios of Sky Sport 24, journalist Luca Marchetti gave an update on the situation regarding the search for Milan’s new sporting director, in which the name of Giovanni Sartori, current executive at Bologna, has also emerged, in addition to the already known Igli Tare and Tony D’Amico:
“Sartori is one of the names being talked about. We know that during the week there is actually supposed to be a new meeting with Tare. So at this moment, saying who is ahead and who is not, I believe, is merely an exercise in style, because this is a moment in which Milan has not yet made a decision. They had made one, and then were forced, or chose, to change course.
Marchetti continued to talk about Milan:
"It also has to be said: we are now focusing on certain names, some of whom are currently not under contract. Paratici and Tare are not under contract, and theoretically, with the proper distinctions regarding the well-known matter of Paratici’s suspension, they could begin working right away. Others cannot. Sartori cannot, D’Amico cannot. So maybe you say, ‘It’s April, fine, but there’s still a season ongoing. Sartori is fighting for Champions League qualification, D’Amico with Atalanta likewise. They can’t exactly come and start working for me now, in case I were to choose one of them.’”

He concluded:
“So yes, it’s April. I can even choose my candidate in April, but in any case, he can’t start working for me before July 1st. Certainly not before the end of the season. So that is another aspect to take into consideration."
