Kyle Walker sets his sights on the derby against Inter on April 23...
The English full-back, who underwent surgery last week for a fracture in his right elbow, is working to return to action for Sergio Conceicao for the most important match of the season. Difficult but not impossible — Milan needs the experience of the former Manchester City man in a clash that seems tilted in Inter’s favor, despite the fact that in the four derbies this season, the Rossoneri came out on top twice and the other two matches ended in a draw.

So far, judgment on the Englishman is on hold within Milan. Walker has tried to bring his winning mentality to training, working also with younger and struggling teammates like Musah, for example. However, on the pitch, he has shown himself to be a reliable defender, but one who is light years away from his best version. The Rossoneri do have some doubts about confirming him — less so Manchester City, who have made it clear to his entourage that they consider his successful cycle with them to be over.
Walker at Milan, only at a discount...
Walker feels good in Milan and would like to start next season with the club. To do so, he will need to raise the bar at the end of this season, also to convince the club to invest in him. As things stand, the only possible solution would be to renegotiate the terms of the deal: Milan will not pay the 5 million euros fee set for the purchase option to Manchester City. With a much lower compensation (1–2 million euros), things could change. But first, the focus is on the derby — to try and make this season a little less bitter for both Walker and Milan.
