Milan, remember Kerkez? Real Madrid and Liverpool now also want him

A revolution that will start from the foundations. At Real Madrid, after the elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal and the defeat in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, which came in extra time, president Florentino Perez is already beginning to prepare for the next season, a year that will likely not see Carlo Ancelotti on the bench of the Blancos. The Italian coach is now promised to the Brazilian Football Federation and will leave the Spanish capital for South America before the start of the Club World Cup.

While waiting to understand who will be the next coach (with Xabi Alonso as the front-runner), the Madrid leadership is already beginning to designate the targets to focus on in the transfer market.

New change on the flanks...

While the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold, freshly crowned Premier League winner and England champion with Liverpool, seems almost a formality, the first reports from Spain indicate that even the left wing of the Merengues will have a new owner. After Alphonso Davies fell through – having signed a renewal until June 30, 2030, and currently sidelined due to a serious injury (a partial ACL tear) that will keep him away from the field until at least September/October – Marca reports that Real Madrid has set its sights on Milos Kerkez, the left-back from surprise team Bournemouth and former Milan player.

Impressive growth for Krekez...

A concrete interest, according to sources close to Madrid, that demonstrates the growing development of the Hungarian wing-back, who has already scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists (including 2 decisive ones against Manchester City) in 34 total appearances – all as a starter – in the Premier League.

This seems to be the season of definitive confirmation for Kerkez, who arrived in England after an investment of nearly 18 million euros by the Cherries, who had signed him from AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands.

Krekez's time at AC Milan

An important journey for the Hungarian that increasingly highlights his talent, which has fully blossomed after his departure from Milan. It was an inevitable departure, given the space the player was seeking at the Rossoneri, but he left for only 2.7 million euros, which pushed him to reinvent himself in the Eredivisie. Certainly, given his breakthrough, one might wonder whether the Rossoneri club had that Theo Hernandez deputy (a role currently vacant at Milanello) that they have always struggled to find in the market.

A crossroads with Liverpool and valuation

But that’s in the past. The future tells us that Real Madrid has shown interest in Kerkez, and they will have to contend with the competition of a club like Liverpool, which is not entirely satisfied with the Robertson-Tsimikas pair on the left defensive flank, and the massive valuation of nearly 60 million euros set by Bournemouth (a sum nearly 22 times higher than what Milan received for his sale). The departure of Alexander-Arnold – heading to Madrid – is also pushing the Reds to look for a talented full-back, and Kerkez’s name is among those highlighted in red in their notebook. So, it will be a Real Madrid-Liverpool battle for the former Milan jewel, who is ready for the big leap.
