Just like last season, this year too Milan wants to celebrate Mother's Day in a special way. The occasion falls on Sunday, May 11. The Rossoneri will present the initiative two days in advance, tomorrow, May 9, on the occasion of the league match against Bologna, scheduled for 8:45 PM CET. It will be the match that opens the 36th round of Serie A.

For the occasion, Milan players will take to the field with their mothers’ surnames on the back of their jerseys, above the number, in place of their own. Not only that, during the announcement of the lineups, the San Siro speaker will read out the mothers’ surnames of the players, which will also be displayed on the stadium screens. Special initiatives are also planned for Milan Futuro, the youth sector, and the women's first team, which will be resting this weekend and will thus miss the last round of the championship.
For the occasion, Milan will also support around 70 young teenage mothers through a fundraising campaign. A portion of the proceeds from the auction of the jerseys worn by the players on the field will be allocated to the fundraiser, as well as part of the revenue from the sale of items from the new women's collection purchased in the Club's physical and online stores from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, and from tickets to the Mondo Milan Museum on the day of Milan-Bologna.
