Interviewed by Sky Sport on the sidelines of the 2nd Telenord-Gianni Di Marzio Award, Adriano Galliani spoke ahead of the league match, the last of the season, between Milan and Monza:
"Next Saturday, my life will flash before my eyes: 10 years with Monza, 31 with Milan, and now another 7 with Monza. Over the last 50 years, I’ve spent 49 in football — I have plenty of stories to tell..."
The former AC Milan executive then continued:
"I would’ve avoided receiving this award, given that I was just relegated a few days ago. Many beautiful things have happened in my life, but this year something not so beautiful happened, as Monza is the team I started with and also the city where I was born. I was a friend of Gianni Di Marzio, whom I tried to bring to manage Monza in 1984. I don’t remember why, but in the end, he chose Padova instead," as relayed via PianetaMilan.it.
Finally, Galliani concluded with a thought on the possible stay of Alessandro Nesta on AC Monza’s bench:
"We’ll decide soon, we haven’t chosen yet. Let’s finish the league first, and then we’ll see. For sure, we have to try to return to Serie A already next year. Sassuolo managed it, Genoa managed it — we’ll try too. Getting back to the top flight immediately is a sporting and economic necessity."
