Igli Tare, the 51-year-old Albanian executive, formerly of Lazio, is in pole position for the Milan director role, as we have relayed to you.
The sportind director in question, is free from any contractual obligation currently. He has worked at the Biancocelesti club since 2008 until June 2023.

The latest confirmations have arrived from Matteo Moretto and also Fabrizio Romano who explained that the AC Milan club's choice is leaning more towards Tare.
As per the reports, his arrival as new sporting director is "one step away". A detailed agreement should be defined between the parties to close the deal.
What were Tare's most important signings at Lazio?
He brought in some of the best players in recent years: from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, snatched from Fiorentina for less than 10 million euros and sold in 2023 for 40 million euros to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
He also brought in Luis Alberto, taken for not even 5 million euros from Deportivo La Coruña. The Spanish midfielder later became a fundamental player in Simone Inzaghi’s team; and then Miroslav Klose, a vision of the sporting director who brought him to the capital on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Bayern Munich.
Perhaps the most important signing, however, was signing Ciro Immobile, who was seeking redemption after his experiences abroad with Dortmund and Sevilla.
