Igli Tare will be the new sporting director of AC Milan, with only the official confirmation of the agreement between the Rossoneri club and the Albanian executive still pending.
According to various reports, the two parties are expected to sign a three-year deal (read here). With the sporting director position finally filled, the club can now begin the search for the next head coach. Several names have already been under consideration for weeks.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the main candidate—despite Tare’s arrival—remains Vincenzo Italiano. Today’s headline from the pink newspaper reads:
"Tare new sporting director, Italiano in pole position. Milan’s future relies on winners."
The subheading adds: "For the bench, the Rossoblù coach is the favorite after winning the Coppa Italia. Allegri is also in the mix." Meanwhile, today the coach will meet with Bologna to discuss a potential contract renewal: Saputo’s club is determined to keep him at all costs.
