Lorenzo Lucca, Udinese striker, gave an interview during the latest episode of 'The Italian Football Podcast', focusing in particular on his idol Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the rumors regarding Milan. Here is an excerpt of his words.
On his childhood idol:
"For me, it has always been Ibrahimovic, ever since I was a child. I always watched his videos, the plays he made, his goals. He has always been my idol," as relayed via PianetaMilan.it.
On the best defender he has ever faced:
"Bremer, the Juventus defender, is certainly a strong player, fast, he reads the plays, strong in the air, physical. He is a complete player. Let’s say he is a very strong player."
On the rumors about Milan, Napoli, and Juventus:
"I think that every boy who starts playing football wants to play for the national team and for a top club. But right now, I’m only thinking about Udinese, I’m under contract with them. They believed in me from the beginning, when no other club wanted me. I’m happy to have this relationship with this club, which is truly extraordinary."
On his admiration for Erling Braut Haaland, Lucca said:
"To tell the truth, I study Haaland a lot. For me, he is perhaps the best striker in Europe, the best in the world in the penalty area. His movements, the way he gets rid of the defender, the spaces he sees, these are things I work on a lot together with my personal coach, who helps me improve in every aspect by watching videos. He is a player who, when he’s in form and if his teammates manage to get him the ball, is an incredibly strong striker. I think Italy has very strong defenders: Bastoni, Calafiori, Buongiorno – I’m surely forgetting someone – they are all players with experience, having played many matches in European competitions, with the national team. I’m sure they will be able to stop him."
