In five days, Milan wrapped up the pairing of an experienced sporting director and coach, signing Igli Tare first and then Massimiliano Allegri.
Two moves that were simply necessary after the disaster of last season, in which the mistakes made a year ago stemmed precisely from the decisions (or lack thereof, in the case of the sporting director role) that came from Casa Milan for these two positions. Commenting on the start of a new Rossoneri era was a great former figure like Fabio Capello, who shared his thoughts with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Capello on how Massimiliano Allegri's Milan will play:
“Luckily, Max is not a fundamentalist who forces teams into predetermined systems or radical ideas like some of his colleagues. One of his strengths is knowing how to adapt to the group he has at his disposal. Being able to adapt and not trap players within principles that may not suit their characteristics is a sign of intelligence. As I see it, he’d be very happy to have Leao and Theo back at their best. Speaking of Rafa, I’m certain Max will manage to give him consistency. Leao has everything it takes to make the difference often and willingly—not just in fits and starts.”
