Massimiliano Allegri calls, Adrien Rabiot answers: Milan is a strong temptation for the French midfielder, the Rossoneri are studying their move, and in the meantime, the price tag of the former Juventus player emerges…

These are days of major change in the Rossoneri’s headquarter, especially in midfield. The sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, in a deal worth around 70 million euros between fixed fee and bonuses (some more easily attainable than others), is now done and the Dutchman is looking forward to a new experience in the Premier League. In the meantime, newly appointed Albanian executive, Igli Tare, has secured the green light from Real Madrid’s legend, Luka Modric.

An experienced reinforcement, but it is not enough for head coach Massimiliano Allegri and the AC Milan club managers, who are also looking for other profiles. In fact, the team does need a deep-lying playmaker in front of the defensive line, and the club and coach’s idea is to assign the role to an Italian player. The name of 23-year-old talent Nicolò Rovella (who spent the season on loan from Juventus at Lazio) has entered the shortlist in recent hours, which already included Torino’s Samuele Ricci (also 23) and 24-year-old Venezia player Hans Nicolussi Caviglia. But they are also hunting for a box-to-box midfielder with physicality and goals in his legs.

There are many options in midfield, just like how Milan fans have great variety of games to play in order to unwind from the transfer market rumours and stress which may come with it. In fact, Energy Casino offers a thrilling online gaming experience. Licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, this platform provides a secure environment with over 3,000 casino slots, live casino games, and exciting promotions like a 100% up to 200€ welcome bonus and daily jackpots from BF Games. Players can enjoy top titles such as ‘Mega Moolah’, alongside unique features like Energy Chests for daily free rewards. With robust responsible gaming measures, including deposit and time limits. The platform ensures a safe and entertaining experience with generous bonuses.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri calls Adrien Rabiot:

Adrien Rabiot fits this profile perfectly. Allegri knows him well from their time together at Juventus, and for several days the 1995-born Frenchman has returned to the Rossoneri radar. The two are in constant contact, and the relationship between the Livorno-born coach and Rabiot is strong, as the player himself recently confessed to La Gazzetta dello Sport. A direct line that, according to the newspaper, led to a phone call in recent days inviting him to follow him to Milan, in a chat filled with hints and laughter.

How much would Adrien Rabiot cost AC  Milan?

Allegri is hopeful, and Rabiot is tempted by the chance to work with him again — but not at Juventus. Still, obstacles remain. Not the transfer fee, which is manageable: according to Gazzetta, the French midfielder (whose contract expires on June 30, 2026) has a verbal agreement with Marseille, and should he wish to leave, a fee of 10.5 million euros could suffice.

The real issues lie elsewhere. The first concerns Rabiot’s salary, which is 3.5 million euros net per season as a fixed base but can reach close to 6 million euros with easily triggered bonuses. The second, even more pressing, relates to European competitions. Milan did not qualify for any UEFA tournaments for next season, while Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille secured a spot in the next edition of the Champions League. Stay at OM and play in Europe’s biggest stage, or give that up and follow Allegri to Milan: Rabiot is reflecting on his future.

Who are the alternatives to Adrien Rabiot's profile at AC Milan?

In the meantime, Igli Tare continues to scour the market in search of alternatives, and several names are already on the table, both in Italy and abroad. The profile of Lazio’s 26-year-old Frenchman Matteo Guendouzi is appreciated, according to some reports, and Raphael Onyedika from Club Brugge, the 2001-born Nigerian previously tracked during his Midtjylland days, remains on the list.

It’s not just the midfield area, however, Milan are also thinking about strikers. According to recent news reported by the well-known journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri club is still looking for a forward for next season, despite their absence from European competitions and the current presence in the squad of Mexican forward Santiago Gimenez (arrived last January), Luka Jovic (whose future remains uncertain), and Francesco Camarda.

AC Milan's director, Tare, set sights on Serie A's top scorer:

With the possible departure of the Serbian striker to Mexico or Brazil, and Tammy Abraham’s return to Roma, the Rossoneri are keeping a close watch on Mateo Retegui, who has a prominent spot on their shortlist: the Atalanta striker, top scorer with 25 goals this Serie A season, is one of the names under consideration by Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri. The costs are high, but Milan are in the race. Juventus are also keeping the door open and evaluating whether or not to join the race for the 1999-born forward. The issue is the price tag: the Italy national team's striker is reportedly valued between 40 and 50 million euros by Atalanta's management.
