Arriving a year ago as a fresh European champion with Spain, Alvaro Morata was presented as the leader Milan needed. Unfortunately, however, things did not go well, and the striker left the Rossoneri after not even 6 months.
The loan move to Turkey, to Galatasaray, and then a new return to the Rossoneri, with a future still to be decided. The Turkish club can still exercise the option, set at 9 million euros, but Morata’s intentions seem quite different.
According to Calciomercato.com, the striker’s desire is to return to Spain, but for now, only Sevilla has made some inquiries. Also keeping an eye on the situation is Como, and their coach, Cesc Fabregas himself, is said to have called him to convince him of the project. The chances of Morata staying in Serie A are slim, however, given his 4.5 million euro net salary.
What about staying at Milan?
Difficult, but the relationship with Massimiliano Allegri should not be underestimated—the coach who managed him during both of his spells at Juventus. It’s an option that, for now, seems distant, but as the weeks go by, if no agreement is found elsewhere, it’s not out of the question that the Livorno-born coach could push to keep him in the Rossoneri squad.
