A new experience awaits Camarda at Lecce as he joins on loan with option to buy and counter-option in favor of the AC Milan club.

After a season spent between Serie A and Milan Futuro in Serie C, the time has come for Francesco Camarda to take flight. The 2008-born striker has left the Rossoneri for the first time in search of more playing time at a Serie A club fighting to avoid relegation: he has signed with Lecce in a deal based on a loan with an option to buy in favor of the Giallorossi, and a counter-option that Milan can exercise. At the moment, Di Francesco's squad still includes Krstovic, but he is expected to depart. Another striker will arrive in his place, and it remains to be seen whether Camarda or the new signing will be the starter.

Camarda to Lecce: figures and details

The negotiations between Milan and Lecce for Camarda were straightforward and without major obstacles: the two clubs reached a final agreement for a loan deal with a €3 million option to buy and a counter-option that Milan can exercise by paying €4 million. Several Serie B clubs were also interested in Camarda, with Spezia ahead of the rest, but Milan's idea was to send him on loan preferably to a Serie A side — which is why Lecce was prioritized. Corvino wanted to include a buy option in favor of Lecce, and Tare, in order to retain control of the player, requested a counter-buy clause, as relayed via Calciomercato.com.

In an interview with Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani spoke about Camarda’s arrival at the club:

“There was a queue for him. But the boy chose to come here, which shows that the relationship between the two sporting directors and the clubs is excellent. Moreover, there is a strong belief that this place is the ideal one for his growth.”
