Jashari – Milan deal not easy as Club Brugge continues to resist the Rossoneri’s offer

Strong words that complicate everything. Words that push Ardon Jashari—Igli Tare’s top transfer target—further away from Milan. Now, Tare stands at a crossroads: either ask RedBird ownership for an additional financial push to raise the bar and convince Club Brugge with an irresistible offer to let the Swiss midfielder go, or change targets altogether.

At this point, the player’s will is not enough to close the deal: it’s purely a matter of money—just like it was in 2022 with Charles De Ketelaere. The Belgian club is not under pressure to sell and isn’t desperate. No player in the squad is considered untouchable, but no one will be allowed to leave at a discount. And Milan’s offer for Jashari continues to be deemed insufficient.

"We'll assume he'll stay"

This was made very clear by Club Brugge’s sporting director, who spoke to Het Laatste Nieuws: “Is the situation at a standstill? I can only say we met with Milan out of courtesy, without even talking about money (smiles). It was three hours without any discussion about money. That aside, everyone knows what Ardon has done, but for us, he’s an important player—we don’t consider his time here to be over. I’m not saying we won’t ever make exceptions, but at the moment, there’s no offer on the table that makes me think we should. We assume he’ll stay. You don’t just leave Brugge that easily.”

"In a year, it won't be just Milan"

Club Brugge’s Director of Football, Dévy Rigaux, echoed that sentiment:

“All of this is part of the summer transfer window. And it’s not the first time I’ve experienced something like this. Izquierdo, for example, at one point wanted to leave. You have to make sure players understand why something is being denied to them. Is it obvious? No. Is it irreversible? Also no. We made it clear to Ardon what we expect from him. If the time comes when a player has truly reached the end of his cycle and a top club presents an appropriate offer, then the transfer can happen. Maxim De Cuyper is a good example. Last year, we rejected an offer from Galatasaray. This year, he went to Brighton (for €20 million).”

He added:

“Was Jashari promised a transfer in exchange for a record fee? We never promise anyone a transfer. If a top club makes an offer that meets or exceeds the player’s value at that moment, then it will happen. If Jashari stays here another year, it won’t just be Milan—other big clubs will come forward,” as relayed via Calciomercato.com.

A final offer from Milan for Ardon Jashari:

Last week, Milan sent an official PEC (certified email) containing a final offer of €32.5 million fixed, plus €2.5 million in easily achievable bonuses and €3 million in harder ones. The club made it clear this was the final offer—there would be no further bids. Milan considers the proposal significant and aligned with the player’s value.

But the deal now seems to have hit a dead end, as Brugge responded through the media with a firm no. They want more money. Jashari, who did not travel for the club’s mini training camp in England and Scotland, has asked his agents to keep pushing. But so far, he’s hit a wall.

What will Milan do now? Back out, or reconsider and return with a higher bid? No option is off the table, but as things stand, the chances of seeing him in a Rossoneri shirt are lower.
