"Modric lands in Milan. Medical tests and signing before heading on holiday"
This is the headline in La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, which explains that at the beginning of next week, Luka Modric will arrive in Italy to undergo medical examinations and then sign his new contract with Milan. The Croatian star will then go on vacation before joining the Milan squad at the beginning of August.
Speaking to the club’s official channel, Luka Modric bid farewell to Real Madrid:
"It’s hard to say, but I feel mixed emotions. An unforgettable, glorious, and victorious era has come to an end. What I’ve experienced fills me with even greater joy. Remembering everything I’ve accomplished here makes me very happy, even though it’s now over. At Real Madrid, I grew both as a player and as a person. Real Madrid gave me everything in football, and for that I will be grateful for the rest of my life. I will always be a Real Madrid fan. It has been a long journey, but an unforgettable one. I’ve grown a lot as a player and as a person. I have another home away from home, because Madrid and Spain are like a second home to me. I am very happy and I’m sure that, with time, I’ll become even more aware of what I’ve achieved, because I’ll need some time to process all the emotions and everything I’ve accomplished here."
