The 2024/25 season was a disastrous one for AC Milan. The Serie A title race was seemingly wide open for much of the campaign, with eventual champions Napoli, Inter, Atalanta, and even Lazio in contention at some point or another. The Rossoneri, however, were a million miles off the pace.
Milan ultimately finished way down in eighth last term, 19 points behind Antonio Conte's Scudetto winners. They did have a chance to save their season by reaching the Coppa Italia final, but even that would end in heartbreak as they lost to Bologna, handing the Emilia-Romagna outfit its first major trophy in over half a century.
And despite the appointment of new manager Max Allegri, online betting sites can't see things getting better anytime soon. The latest Serie A odds from the popular Bovada site currently make the Rossoneri a distant 5/1 shot to claim the title next term, well behind 2/1 favorites Inter. However, those odds could shrink should Milan address their glaring weak spot: a goalscorer
Milan striking woes:
Milan ran through five different strikers last season, forking out over €60m in the process. However, none of them were able to net more than ten goals. Loannee Tammy Abraham top scored, but he was far too inconsistent. Alvaro Morata arrived to much fanfare but only lasted six months before being shipped off to Galatasaray, while expensive winter signing Santiago Gimenez managed just six goals.
As we head into the 2025/26 season, Gimenez and unproven Lorenzo Colombo are the only strikers currently on the books. The state of a Milan squad is a far cry from those of yesteryear, where the likes of Andriy Shevchenko, Filippo Inzaghi, and Hernan Crespo combined to deliver one UEFA Champions League title after another.

As such, Milan are in desperate need of some additional firepower if they are to improve next term. Luckily, the club is reportedly on the hunt for new forwards, and here are some of the names that are being linked with a move to the San Siro.
Victor Boniface:
Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface is reportedly Milan's number-one target. The Nigerian hitman helped Die Werkself win the Bundesliga for the first time ever during his maiden campaign with the club, netting 14 goals in 23 league games as his side claimed the Meisterschale without losing a single game. Last season, however, was a major disappointment.
Injuries restricted Boniface to just 19 league starts in 2024/25, and while he did net eight times in those games, his side ultimately relinquished the Bundesliga crown without much of a fight. Now, the 24-year-old is rumored to be on the move to the San Siro, and he won't come cheap. Leverkusen are thought to be unwilling to consider offers under €50m for their prized asset, and considering the fact that they recently held out for a whopping €125m to sell superstar Florian Wirtz, it's unexpected that Die Werkself will budge on their lofty valuation.
Dusan Vlahovic:
Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Serie A for some time now. Despite being just 25 years of age, the Serbian striker has been scoring goals in the Italian top flight for the last six years. He already has 87 Serie A goals to his name after stints with Fiorentina and now the Bianconeri; however, some shocking news coming out of Turin has put several of Europe's top clubs on notice.
Recent reports suggest that Juve are looking to offload the man they once paid €75m to acquire. And they are just looking to sell him. Vlahovic could leave the Allianz Stadium for absolutely nothing. That certainly would appeal to Milan, and they are thought to be at the front of the queue to secure the Serbian's services.
Belgrade youngster has fallen off somewhat in recent years, he has still been a reliable source of goals and an upgrade on what Milan currently has available. 17 goals in all competitions last season is hardly a bad return, and the Rossoneri could do far worse than bringing Vlahovic to the San Siro on a free transfer.
Nicolas Jackson:
Senegalese frontman Nicolas Jackson is certainly an enigma. The current Chelsea man definitely knows where the back of the net is, as demonstrated by 30 goals in the last two years at Stamford Bridge. However, his inconsistent nature, questionable finishing, and lack of discipline have seemingly forced the Blues to cut ties.
Chelsea have signed both Liam Delap and João Pedro this summer, while Hugo Ekitiké and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are both thought to be targets as well. That indicates that Jackson's time at the Bridge could well be over, and Milan has been rumored in completing a deal for their 24-year-old.
While Jackson is an X-Factor, he certainly has plenty of goals in him. If Allegri can harness the striker's wild energy and focus him on simply scoring goals, then Milan may well have found their next talisman. Any deal for the former Villareal man will come with risk, though, and if things don't work out, the San Siro faithful will let their feelings be known.
