In recent years, the Milan-Madrid axis has been very active: everything started in 2019 with Theo Hernandez’s arrival at Milan from Real, then continued a few summers later first with Brahim Diaz—who later returned to the Spanish side—and then with another full-back, Alex Jimenez, now a regular presence in the first team. Two of the most recent deals between the Rossoneri and the Blancos involved full-backs: the next one could also be a player in the same role. According to reports from Spain, in fact, there are ongoing contacts between Milan and Fran Garcia.

Milan, contacts with the agent
Fran Garcia is a left-back, born in 1999, and over the last year he has practically played as a starter both under Carlo Ancelotti and the new coach Xabi Alonso: in the Club World Cup, he started all six matches. However, his future with the Merengues is uncertain, after the club signed Alvaro Carreras in the same position. Real’s plan could be to keep Carreras and Mendy. For these reasons, as reported this morning by Diario AS, the agent Ginés Carvajal—representative of both Garcia and Carreras—has initiated contacts with Milan, fully aware that the Rossoneri club is looking for a left-back.
Modric as a 'sponsor'
As reported by the Spanish newspaper in its online edition, supporting the deal is also new Rossoneri signing Luka Modric, who has watched Garcia, a Real Madrid youth product, grow over the past few years: the Croatian superstar is his main advocate. Milan is currently evaluating several profiles both on the left and on the right, but does not want to spend more than €30 million in total for both players. That’s why the operation needs to be carefully assessed: Fran Garcia is under contract until 2027, so no discounts can be expected from Via Aldo Rossi. However, the fact that Garcia’s agent was the one to make the first move could be a positive sign.
