Giovanni Leoni is only 18 years old and has just half a season of experience in Serie A, but he’s attracting interest from everyone. The very young 2006-born defender from Parma had a fantastic second half of the season with the Crociati, becoming one of the key figures in the team’s survival under coach Cristian Chivu, who took over mid-season from Pecchia and is now the new Inter manager.

His performances and strong personality have put him firmly on the radar of both Milan and Inter, who are ready to go head-to-head in a transfer market derby if the opportunity arises. However, Juventus has also stepped forward for Leoni, making it a thrilling three-way race. Corriere dello Sport writes:
"Tudor also wants Leoni, and it’s a battle with Milan and Inter."
The subtitle reads:
"He’s the prototype of the modern defender who climbed three divisions in six months: the Juventus coach is smitten."
And smitten, too, are the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri.
The problem for all the suitors is the asking price, which has now risen to €40 million after Parma rejected a €25 million bid. Will anyone have the courage to invest that much?
