Fikayo Tomori has granted an exclusive interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Englishman confirmed that he feels great in Milan:
"I’ve always said that I was happy here, and until the last day I wear this shirt, I will give everything for Milan. It will always be like this."
"The first thing the coach told us, and we knew it well, is that what we’re missing is consistency. Last year, we had too many ups and downs in our performances, and over the course of this season, we need to be more concrete and more balanced,"
On the Champions League goal:
"We’ll have to think game by game, and in the end, we’ll see what happens. This is the time to work, not to make calculations or proclamations."
In the first summer friendlies, Allegri also tried out the three-man defense, and Fikayo Tomori revealed his feelings about the new tactical setup:
"The role I’m playing now, in my opinion, suits me because among my characteristics are speed and aggression. With a back three or five, I can be freer to step out and challenge opponents. I felt good and I believe I can keep doing well."
Allegri’s instructions are clear, and the team has already taken them on board:
"We’ve understood what the coach wants, and we’re getting used to it because these are different demands compared to the past. We’re working well and hard. We’re preparing, and when the three points are at stake, you’ll see that we’ll be ready."
Finally, the Rossoneri center-back commented on the three friendlies against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Perth Glory:
"In the first match after two weeks of preparation, there were a few things to improve, but it wasn’t negative, and even against Arsenal, I saw good things. It’s undeniable, though, that against Liverpool we did even better and Milan expressed itself well. Against the Australians, we tried new and different things. It’s useful in order to try to improve."
