The profiles discussed over the summer have been numerous such as Darwin Núñez, Dusan Vlahović, and Rasmus Højlund, with the Danish striker seemingly climbing the ranks of preference among the decision-makers at Casa Milan in recent hours. Manchester United, who finished fifteenth in the last Premier League season, are pushing hard to beat Newcastle to the signing of Benjamin Šeško, the hugely talented Slovenian striker from RB Leipzig. The 2003-born forward is set to leave Germany for around 80 million euros plus bonuses, a figure that, combined with his excellent technical ability, effectively places him as a first-choice starter.
Højlund, who played 52 matches across all competitions last season in England, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists, has not been shown the door by the Red Devils, but it's clear that without European competitions and with Šeško’s arrival, his playing time would be significantly reduced. For this reason, despite the Dane’s determination to stay and fight for a starting spot, he has started to consider the possibility of leaving after two seasons at Old Trafford.
The Danish international already has experience in Serie A, having spent a season with Atalanta that put him on the radar of many top European clubs. Despite his young age (born in 2003, 22 years old), he has shown interesting physical and technical qualities: he already has three seasons under his belt in top-level leagues. Physically strong, with a lethal left foot, very fast over long distances, and full of personality, not to mention a great work ethic, if United were to open up to a loan deal with an option to buy, Milan would be ready. It’s a track to follow closely.
