After Ardon Jashari, it’s now Luka Modrić’s turn: yesterday, the Swiss midfielder made his debut for Milan in the friendly against Leeds in Dublin, while today at 4 p.m. in London it will be the Croatian champion’s turn to play his first match in the Rossoneri shirt.
The former Real Madrid star will start from the first minute in the 3-5-1-1 formation designed by Max Allegri, taking the role of left mezzala, with Samuele Ricci as the deep-lying playmaker in front of the defense and Youssouf Fofana as the right mezzala.
Allegri's choices:
As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, against the Blues the coach from Livorno will give playing time to those who didn’t feature yesterday against Leeds, such as Fofana, Loftus-Cheek, Leão, Bartesaghi, and Maignan, as well as to those who only played a few minutes, like Saelemaekers, Ricci, and Filippo Terracciano. But all eyes will especially be on Modrić, who will finally begin his Rossoneri adventure on the pitch.
Here are the probable line-ups for the two teams:
CHELSEA: (4-2-3-1) Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Tosin, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Gittens, Palmer, Neto; Joao Pedro.
MILAN: (3-5-1-1) Maignan; Dutu, Tomori, F.Terracciano; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Ricci, Modric, Bartesaghi; Loftus-Cheek; Leao.
