Yesterday, Manchester United sent a very clear new message to Rasmus Højlund, hoping he has finally understood that he is no longer part of the club’s project and that there is no place for him in Amorim’s team: the Danish striker was not called up for the Red Devils’ big home clash against Arsenal. The English executives now hope the player will seriously start considering the offers on the table for him, including one from Milan.

Will Milan be able to sign Hojlund?
As La Gazzetta dello Sport explains this morning, the coming days will be decisive in determining whether Højlund’s move to the Rossoneri can truly go through.
The RedBird-owned club, as sporting director Igli Tare also admitted yesterday before the Coppa Italia match against Bari, are actively looking for a new striker, and the Dane is among the options. However, Milan cannot wait forever. At Casa Milan, they are hoping the player has finally realized that his adventure at United is over, and that he will therefore decide to say yes to the Rossoneri’s offer.
The prospect of joining Milan appeals to Højlund because he would be at the center of the project, but the former Atalanta man is demanding guarantees about his future: he does not want to move on a simple loan only to return to Manchester next summer. Essentially, the striker is asking for a permanent transfer or a loan with an option to buy at a reasonable price, not the €45 million plus bonuses United are demanding. Milan, for their part, are aiming for a total investment of around €35 million, while also keeping other options alive, such as Juventus’ Vlahović, Bayer Leverkusen’s Boniface, Chelsea’s Jackson, and Lecce’s Krstović.
