La Gazzetta dello Sport, on newsstands today, headlines on Luka Modrić, who yesterday made his official debut in a Milan shirt:
“Modrić, what class. He comes on and makes his debut with Milan: the Rossoneri is immediately his.”

The Croatian champion, greeted with huge applause from the San Siro crowd during the presentation of the new signings before the Coppa Italia match against Bari, came on in the 65th minute to replace Samuele Ricci. Deployed as a deep-lying playmaker in front of the defense, the former Real Madrid star produced flashes of his timeless quality.
Speaking to Mediaset before the match, Milan sporting director Igli Tare explained how he convinced Modrić to join the Rossoneri:
"It wasn’t very difficult; as a child he supported Milan. We met like two former kids cheering for the same team. I immediately understood his thoughts were with Milan, so I tried to convey enthusiasm. His arrival is an added value for this squad," as relayed via Gazzetta today.
