AC Milan, with a swift move today, are now just a step away from signing Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. Matteo Moretto, speaking in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, explained it like this:
“Milan are really just a step away from completing the signing of Victor Boniface. The formula will be a loan with a buy option set at around €30 million, actually a little less than that. In just 12 hours Milan have almost wrapped it up, though it’s not done yet, this is a lightning-fast deal. Milan had been following Boniface for quite some time, but it never seemed like a realistic option because of the costs and the structure of the deal. In the last few hours, however, Leverkusen opened up, agreeing to a loan with an option to buy."
Boniface himself is certainly open to the move.
"So what’s missing before it’s finalized? Negotiations have now begun over Boniface’s personal terms with Milan. I think between tonight and tomorrow Milan will keep working with the player’s entourage to sort out the contract details and move towards a full agreement. At this moment, the deal isn’t closed, but it’s at a very advanced stage: the two clubs already have an agreement in place, but there’s still no agreement on the player’s contract. Once that final agreement is reached, Boniface will be able to travel to Milan for his medicals.”
