AC Milan will not be signing Victor Boniface: the Nigerian striker has returned to Germany after Saturday’s in-depth medical tests failed to dispel the Rossoneri’s concerns.
In fact, the tests highlighted uncertainties and critical issues that led the club to abandon the deal despite the urgent need for a new addition, both technically and numerically, at the center of the attack. Santiago Gimenez, still out of form, is the only natural striker available to Allegri, and even without European competitions, it is clearly impossible to go through the season with just one central forward in the squad.
Once the Boniface impasse was resolved, Casa Milan decided to immediately return to the market to fill the gap. As of today, the name they are seriously working on is Conrad Harder, Sporting Lisbon’s striker. Other clubs, such as Rennes, are also interested in the Dane, but the 2005-born forward has currently put everything else on hold to give priority to Milan.

A Danish center-forward born in 2005 and a product of Nordsjælland’s youth academy, Harder first stood out with impressive numbers at youth level: 27 goals in 24 appearances with the U-19s in the 2022/23 season.
He made his Superliga debut in June 2023 and scored his first professional goal just a few months later. In the summer of 2024, Sporting Lisbon signed him for around €19 million. It was a significant gamble that quickly paid off: Harder scored in the league, the cup, and the Champions League, proving decisive in the matches that led the Lions to win both the league title and the Taça de Portugal. He finished last season with 54 appearances, 13 goals, and 10 assists across all competitions, as relayed via Milan News.
With an imposing physique (around 185 cm), pace, intelligent movement off the ball, and solid technical skills, Harder seems to have the right qualities to make an impact in Serie A as well. He has a powerful left foot and is not afraid to shoot from distance. He still needs refinement in his tactical awareness and decision-making, but his potential looks significant.
Today Milan once again met with his agent at Casa Milan and are trying to finalize the deal, valued at €25 million overall, in the coming hours. The Rossoneri see him as the ideal profile to complement Gimenez, a young striker with already a fair amount of European experience.
