Milan, striker intrigue. Boniface has been sent back to Germany after his medical tests, and the Rossoneri have reopened talks with several other players. Matteo Moretto, speaking in a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, gave an update on the situation:

“All the attention is on Victor Boniface. At this moment, the deal between Leverkusen and Milan has collapsed. Milan decided not to go ahead with signing Victor Boniface, to the point that the Nigerian striker has already returned to Germany today. On Saturday, after carefully analyzing the results of his medicals, Milan chose to halt negotiations. The club did not receive the necessary guarantees about Boniface’s long-term fitness, particularly regarding his knees. In the long run, this deal was deemed too risky for Milan. There were doubts over the reliability and integrity of the striker’s knees, so the club decided to walk away. His physical condition simply didn’t convince them. Milan gave the green light for the player to return to Germany and, at the same time, are keeping other options alive."
"The number one plan right now is Harder, a Danish striker born in 2005. He is the player Milan have had the most talks about, negotiating both with Sporting and with the player’s entourage. Direct contacts have also taken place between Zlatan Ibrahimović and Harder himself. Milan are negotiating directly with all parties to push forward with the operation. In recent days, Harder has been approached by Rennes and some English clubs, but he has not signed with anyone. He decided to put all talks on hold while waiting for Milan, and now he is in direct negotiations with the Rossoneri for a potential transfer in these final days of the market.”
“Harder may not be the only reinforcement in attack. Milan are working on several fronts. Keep an eye on Massimiliano Allegri’s long-time target: Dusan Vlahović. There is a major gap when it comes to his salary, making him a complicated target for cost reasons, not so much for the transfer fee, since Milan and Juventus could potentially find common ground, perhaps even by including a counterpart in the deal. The real stumbling block is Vlahović’s wages. He earns over €10 million per season, and Milan need to understand whether he would be willing to take a pay cut in order to wear the red and black.
"Other names remain on Milan’s shortlist. Rasmus Højlund is one to watch. It’s true that Napoli are currently very close to the Danish striker, with advanced negotiations well underway: a loan deal with an option to buy that could become an obligation. But Milan could change strategy and make a push for Højlund, altering the conditions with Manchester United and going all-in for the player. We’ll see, evaluations are ongoing. The news for now is that Napoli are ahead and want to try to finalize the deal in the next few hours."
"Beyond Højlund, Vlahović, and Harder, other names on Milan’s radar include Breel Embolo and Tolu Arokodare, two players who could also become viable options in these final days of the transfer market.”
