Christopher Nkunku spoke to the media in a press conference today to present himself as a new Milan signing coming from Chelsea.

Question: What did you feel when you heard about Milan?

"The first time I heard about Milan was when I had the first contact with the sporting director. I didn’t think too much, everything was perfect to bring me here."

What is your favorite role?

"I like playing as an attacking midfielder. Then it depends on the system and how it’s interpreted. The coach will decide, I can’t wait to play."

How are you? Are you ready?

"I feel good, I’ve started training these days with the team. I can’t wait to be ready for the next match."

What went wrong in London?

"I think when I arrived everything was perfect but then I got injured and was out for many months. I wanted to come back strongly, then I had another muscle problem. In the second year I felt fine, but then the coach made other choices. I am still the same player who once scored a brace in Bergamo."

How many goals do you want to score?

"I don’t know how many I’ll score. If I score more than 15 it means I’ve done well. We’ll see at the end of the season."

Here at Milan you’ve found many French players… Nkunku replied:

"It’s important to have four players here I already knew, they will help me. They know the league and the city, they’ll be important on and off the pitch. What matters is creating a strong connection with all teammates."

What impact will your speed have in Serie A? And what about the partnership with Leao?

"I need to adapt to the team and the league. Rafa and I have similar traits. He’s a great player, I know what he can do, I hope we can do well together."

What do you think of the other forwards in the squad? Who could you work best with?

"I think we have a strong squad with many good forwards. Everyone has to bring their qualities to the team. I can adapt to what the coach asks and then do what he wants."

What impression did Allegri make on you?

"A good impression. I spoke with him before signing. My goal is to adapt quickly to the team, train and get to know this new environment."

You’ve played in many roles. Where can you do best?

"I am competitive, I know what I want, which is to be the best version of myself. I can give a lot to this team, I need to work well every day."

Is there a Milan player you’re inspired by?

"I liked watching Ronaldinho and Kaká. I also spoke with Thiago Silva about Milan, which he said is the best team in Italy. I can’t wait to show my qualities."

Did Inter try to sign you in the past?

"That was written, but I never spoke with anyone from Inter. When my agent told me about Milan I didn’t think for even a second."

How can Serie A improve you?

"I need to get to know it well, I need to adapt."

At Milan you’ll find Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek, who also played at Chelsea and are now doing well here…

"I made my choice on my own, I don’t focus much on what happens around me. At Chelsea I learned a lot. What can I bring here? It depends on what the coach asks."

Did they tell you about the Milan derby?

"I know about the derby. I don’t know the Milan one well, but I talked about it with some teammates and they told me it’s the game," as relayed via Milannews.it.

At Milan you are central to the project compared to Chelsea…

"I want to be competitive and win trophies, that’s my goal. I want to improve in every training session."

How do you assess your career so far? Nkunku answered:

"I want more. I’m competitive, I want to reach my goals. I always want to improve, I’ll give everything."

What emotions will you feel playing at San Siro?

"It will be special. When I played here I won against Italy. I felt a great atmosphere. I can’t wait to experience this stadium."
