Fabrizio Romano, in a video on his YouTube channel, said the following about Mike Maignan:
"Over the past weeks, talk around Mike Maignan has increased. In recent days, the story from abroad about Chelsea has resurfaced, with the club said to be ready to move again for the French goalkeeper. Chelsea had him within reach in June, but there was no agreement with Milan, which did not want to put more than 15 million euros on the table. Milan stood firm and keeping Maignan was the right call given his performances. Now the rumors about Maignan and Chelsea are back, but I can tell you that from the English club I am told the deal is frozen and stopped. Nothing is confirmed regarding the stories coming from England. Chelsea is happy with Sanchez and Maignan’s name is not seen as a hot topic. The message from Chelsea is clear: we are not in on Maignan."
Here are the updates on Santiago Gimenez and Jean-Philippe Mateta, the Crystal Palace striker often linked with Milan:
On AC Milan's Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez:
"There are claims Sunderland are on Santiago Gimenez and that there have already been contacts. What I am told is a firm denial, Sunderland say no regarding the Mexican striker from Milan. The English club has other plans. We will see what happens in January for Gimenez, but for now there is no confirmation about Sunderland."
On Jean-Philippe Mateta:
"He was on Milan’s list in the summer, but dealing with Crystal Palace is not easy. I can tell you the message I receive is of a Mateta ready for a different experience. I confirm the temptation of Italy for 2026, we will see if in the summer or in January, although the winter window is difficult and I do not think Crystal Palace will let a player like Mateta go. I can add that the last real contact between the player and Palace about a renewal dates back to August. There has been nothing since then, and Mateta does not seem keen to extend his contract that expires in 2027. I confirm Italy is a destination he would consider, as well as staying in the Premier League."
