Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan's coach, spoke at the press conference after Milan-Sassuolo.
“It was a match we knew would be very difficult, because Sassuolo can score at any moment. We even risked losing. We take this point because it could be useful for reaching our goal. We could have done better on the 2-2. That said, the players are doing well, and we need to stay calm and focused, and think about Thursday’s game against Napoli.”

Milan and struggles against smaller teams:
“Today, compared to other games, we did better in possession because we moved more. They defended well against crosses. Then we lacked attention, especially on the second goal, because until that moment the match was going smoothly.”
Milan needs something extra... Allegri commented:
"For Thursday, we should have Fofana back, we’ll see how Leao is. Gimenez, we hope to have him as soon as possible. We need to keep working because so far the players are doing well. We have to stay angry but not demoralized, because tomorrow we must focus on Thursday and keep working to improve. We also need to start conceding fewer goals, but continue working in total calm and satisfied with the work done so far."
On the referee’s decisions:
"He saw good things and made decisions. It was his first time at San Siro, and next time he will have more experience handling these matches."
On Gabbia and Pulisic:
"Pulisic was a tactical choice. At that moment we needed to strengthen midfield and restart, so I decided to add another midfielder. Pulisic was coming off a week where he lost weight and had a fever. I’d say it was a tactical change. We’ll check Gabbia tomorrow morning, hopefully it’s nothing serious."
