The front page of today’s print edition of the Italian newspaper 'Il Corriere dello Sport' returns to the penalty awarded in the final moments of Milan–Genoa, which was then missed by the 32-year-old Romanian attacking midfielder Nicolae Stanciu, whose shot sailed high over the crossbar. The newspaper’s focus is on Pavlovic, who, during the VAR check, went to “damage” the pitch around the penalty spot.
"Pavlovic dug a hole for Stanciu," writes the Rome-based daily. “Penalty spot dug up for the spot-kick.” The Serbian defender was “caught” doing so on a video filmed from the stands, while his teammates were protesting with the referee.
